For patients
Waiting for treatment can feel like life is on hold. When pain, worry, or daily life is already heavy, a complex process makes it even harder.
Ventefri helps patients considering planned treatment in another EEA country keep control of documents, sequence, and submission so they can move forward with fewer delays.
How we support you
How the process works
We work in clear phases so you always know what happens now and what comes next.
- 1
Scope check and expectation setting
We assess whether Ventefri is a fit for your case and what may be missing before moving ahead.
- 2
Norwegian documentation in place
We help you understand which documents are usually required and the most practical sequence for collecting them.
- 3
Clinic offer in the EEA
You need a written offer that clearly states treatment type and price. We provide templates and a checklist so the offer is usable.
- 4
Prior authorization
In the pilot we use prior authorization to reduce financial risk. We help structure the attachments, while you remain the formal applicant.
- 5
Treatment and documentation
Before travel, we provide a checklist for what to secure, including invoice, proof of payment, and treatment report/discharge note.
- 6
Reimbursement claim
After treatment, you submit the reimbursement claim. We can help ensure the document set is clean and complete.
At the moment, we only offer the pilot. That lets us keep enough capacity for close, hands-on follow-up.
The long-term goal is unchanged: help more people use their option to seek treatment abroad.
Join pilotYou can pay for private treatment in Norway. The reimbursement route Ventefri supports only applies to treatment abroad. For the diagnoses we currently focus on, private treatment in Norway is often substantially more expensive, though it may still be the right choice for some.
You can also manage treatment abroad and apply for reimbursement on your own. We provide a free, detailed guide to help you get started. Doing it solo can be demanding, which is exactly why Ventefri exists. If you choose a DIY route, an AI assistant can be a useful sparring partner. Do not share personal or health data.
